About this role:
As a member of the Employee Relations Team, you will provide high-quality, efficient, and timely service to all stakeholders on employee relation matters, including performance management, disciplinary matters, accommodations, dispute resolution, attendance management, and return to work coordination while ensuring the execution and enforcement of fair and consistent application of workplace policies and processes.
You will manage and foster positive relationships between employees and the
organisation, mediate disputes, conduct investigations, and guide both employees and management. Working within a global team, you will gain valuable international exposure while focusing on the German context. Ensuring compliance with labour laws and company policies, you will contribute to a fair, consistent, and harmonious work environment.
These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
- Apply employment standards and labour laws for legal compliance ensuring accurate validation of country specific regulations
- Responding to employee inquiries through the People Service Portal (JIRA system) and other channels, identifying needs, and escalating issues, as the needs arise.
- Maintaining a strong commitment to our service level agreements (SLAs) around responsiveness and employee satisfaction.
- Maintain quality standards of content and information as it relates to Employee Relations guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Manage internal People policies and update policies to reflect localisation requirements
- Internal investigations for local cases and whistleblower cases
- Establish meaningful relationships and communication within the People Services teams and between teams across departments assigned
- Collaborating closely with the legal teams to validate and escalate cases when appropriate
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to provide comprehensive employee support
- Guide managers (with different levels) on disciplinary and non-disciplinary actions, terminations, and employment standards; support with documentation and best practices
- Develop business acumen for departmental support
What will you bring to the table?
- Post secondary education in Human Resources (Business), or Psychology preferred
- 2-3+ years HR Experience, or 3+ years of leadership experience with proven HR responsibilities;
- Proven ability to research and apply employment standards and labour laws.
- Experience managing internal investigations and whistleblower cases.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high-quality content for Employee Relations guidelines and policies.
- Strong experience in guiding managers on employment-related actions, including terminations and adherence to standards.
- Effective collaboration skills with People Services teams for case validation and escalation management.
- Strong partnership capabilities with Works Councils and on employee-related matters and escalations.
- Attention to detail in ensuring consistency and accuracy of information in HR Systems
- Promote positive culture, support leaders, maintain timelines for satisfaction
- German and English language skills are essential
- Experience with WorkDay desirable
