The Occupational Safety, Medical, and Health Department provides comprehensive emergency medical and responses services in conjunction with our Covestro sites medical departments. As a key provider of acute medical care, the department supplements the services offered by statutory health insurance and acts as the global medical contact point for chemical emergencies. During an emergency, occupational medical care is typically provided by on-site personnel.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the central point of contact for medical emergencies within Covestro, providing counsel as a member of the global pandemic crisis team and as a medical advisor to crisis teams.
  • Provide strategic leadership of the Medical Services Network, offering executive-level medical guidance, particularly in relation to specific risks and health issues.
  • Represent Covestro in global occupational health and safety topics, including conducting medical audits and advising on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Collaborate closely with HR and HSE-R departments to manage health risks and promote employee productivity.
  • Ensure the quality implementation of health standards and policies, including clinical and health surveillance, disability management, and psychosocial counseling.
Your Profile:
  • You hold a university degree in medicine with a specialization in general and occupational medicine.
  • You have solid professional experience in managing medical incidents in the chemical industry, particularly related to gas exposure and chemical accidents.
  • You possess deep knowledge of emergency medicine, rescue services, and radiation protection.
  • You have excellent communication and negotiation skills and are fluent in both German and English.
  • You have several years of international experience in a corporate environment and have established a strong medical network.
