ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking to recruit a Senior Data Analyst who has a passion for Games and big data to join us to work for our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, due for release on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S and PC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As our Senior Data Analyst you will:

  • Analyze in-game data to track player behavior, game performance, and engagement patterns.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI to communicate key metrics and insights to stakeholders.
  • Leverage Azure Data Explorer (ADX) to query large datasets, perform data exploration, and derive actionable insights.
  • Work closely with game designers, product managers, and developers to understand key metrics, KPIs, and project objectives for Off The Grid.
  • Proactively identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within the game economy, retention rates, and player progression.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure data accuracy, availability, and scalability.
  • Engage in hypothesis exploration by conducting ad-hoc data mining and analysis to investigate hypotheses related to existing product features and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Provide regular reports and present key findings to leadership and development teams.
  • Participate in player behavior analysis utilizing statistical analysis to deeply understand player behavior, contributing to the development of targeted solutions for player engagement and retention.
  • Create forecast models for the game, enabling data-driven decision-making for game development and improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 years of professional experience in analytics, with at least 2 years specifically in the gaming industry.
  • Expertise in Azure Data Explorer (ADX) and KQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.
  • Strong skills in PowerBI for dashboard creation and data visualization.
  • Experience with SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) to automate data processing and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of game KPIs, player behaviour analysis, and game economy modelling.
  • Strong communication skills to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a passion for Gaming and an understanding of the gaming industry's dynamics and trends.
  • Good written and spoken English.

PLUSSES

  • Experience in battle royale or other competitive shooter multiplayer genres.
  • Familiarity with Google Tag Manager for event tracking for marketing purposes.
  • Familiarity with Gamesight for analyzing player acquisition data.
  • Knowledge of machine learning models and predictive analytics in gaming.
