ClinChoice, is searching for a Freelance Project Manager for Clinical Supply Systems to join one of our partner companies, a large pharmaceutical company in Germany. This is an office-based role, in Ludwigshafen, Germany. It is 1 FTE, until October 2025.

The Freelance Project Manager for Clinical Supply Systems ensures that clinical trials have the necessary supplies on time and in compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include preparing and maintenance of training materials, processing solutions regarding the Clinical Supply Management, preparing proposals, update SOPs, collection of statistics and KPIs and communicate with global users of Clinical Supply Management.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and maintenance of training materials for Clinical Supply Management Information Technology systems and conducting system training for new employees.
  • Reflect the process of external partners in Clinical Supply Management Information Technology systems, independent input and administration of master data management into the Clinical Supply Management Information Technology system, as per requests and information from various source systems. When entering and managing some master data, such as Item Master Classifications and Data Mappings, the influence on all relevant system functionalities must be considered.
  • Processing inquiries and problem solutions relating to the functionality of Clinical Supply Management Information Technology systems and independent resolution of highly complex errors that occur in interface systems, involves external partners (if required). Tracks and is responsible for all steps from root cause analysis until resolution of the problem. Communicates directly with global Information Technology support and external providers to solve complex problems.
  • Preparation of proposals to optimize cross-departmental work processes to improve efficiency and cost structure with support from the Program Manager Clinical Supplies Systems. Preparation and implementation of Information Technology interfaces to Clinical Supply Management Information Technology systems with support from the Program Manager Clinical Supplies Systems.
  • Research and collection of statistics and KPIs, as well as implementation of ad hoc views, dashboards, unvalidated reports under supervision by the Program Manager Clinical Supplies Systems and external consultants. Development of new local processes and process optimizations with the respective specialist area, from idea to testing to implementation with the support of supervisors.
  • Definition of new local processes within Clinical Supply Management from the perspective of system functionalities, as well as when writing user requirement specifications.
  • Preparation and update of global SOPs, work instructions and training materials in the area of clinical supply management in relation to Information Technology systems of the Clinical Supply Systems Business Excellence Group.
  • Evaluates change control/change management processes and coordinates the activities required by the Clinical Supplies Systems Group locally.
  • Communication with global users of Clinical Supply Management Information Technology systems, to discuss specific inquiries and problem solutions, as well as when evaluating new processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education with typically 5 years of experience, or Master's Degree or equivalent education with typically 2 years of experience. Prior experience in clinical drug development or GMP/GCP area preferred
  • Experience in working with Information Technology systems and an affinity for work with Information Technology systems necessary
  • Experience in programming and scripting preferred
  • Understanding of database setup and usage as well as SQL knowledge
  • Understanding of Jaspersoft or similar Reporting Tools
  • Possesses the ability to think and act with regard to multiple functions with exceptional follow-up skills
  • Strong skills in customer orientation and prioritization required
  • Understanding of importance of compliance in a regulated environment
  • Goal-oriented and independent way of working
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) in German and English
