This international, interdisciplinary project with Stanford University and the University of California at San Diego will introduce and translate a bedside, non-invasive approach to characterize complex tumor vascular networks, by considering the interconnected nature of voxels in 3D dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

At TUHH, we will develop fast and efficient numerical inversion methods for a flow field model that explicitly accounts for an arterial and a venous compartment and evaluate the performance in pre-clinical and clinical data.

YOUR TASKS

  • To develop computational methods for the identification of flow parameters from time-resolved 3D contrast-enhanced ultrasound measurements
  • To investigate the influence of various sources of error on identified parameters
  • To develop, implement and test strategies for parallelizing in the spatial and temporal domain
  • To publish results in leading international scientific journals and conferences
YOUR PROFILE

Requirements

  • You have received a Doctorate in Mathematics, Scientific Computing, Computational Science, or another relevant field
Required knowledge and personal skills

  • Excellent knowledge of computational mathematics, ideally with a focus on numerical time stepping, inverse problems, or PDE-constrained optimization
  • Good programming skills, and ideally experience with high-performance computing/parallelization
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English (B2/C1 GER)
OUR OFFER

  • you will be part of an international interdisciplinary team and collaborate with academic and clinical partners at Stanford University and UC San Diego
  • flexible and family-friendly working conditions
  • you will work on state of the art computational methods with a meaningful purpose
  • 30 day vacation per year
  • fully funded position up to two years
