Engineering Manager - Zalando Lounge

Lounge by Zalando is a well-established shopping club with millions of customers.

As an Engineering Manager for the Web Platform within the Lounge’s Customer Facing Applications Business Unit. You will be joining the team which works on the underlying architecture, common libraries and executes refactoring efforts for the whole Web experience of our product. Directly contributing and enabling the 8 cross-functional Product feature teams across two business units within the Lounge by Zalando.

In the specific role of Engineering Manager for Web Platform the hands-on background experience with Front-End technologies is required. A personal affinity and passion towards the FE eco system is also very welcome.

Ideally you are a People Centric Engineering Manager who lives and breathes Front-End and has a strong Product mindset.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

• Lead and grow the Lounge’s CFA Web Platform team.

• Create and nurture a high performing culture of technical and operational excellence.

• Drive a long-term architecture vision that enables the product strategy and the definition of cornerstones for technology.

• Ensure close collaboration with other teams and your stakeholders.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• You have a track record (at least 1 year) of building and leading successful functional or cross-functional engineering teams.

• You are an engineering leader who works with people on an eye-level and creates a culture of trust, growth, ownership and responsibility.

• You have hands-on experience and knowledge in Front-End development and you are able to participate in technical discussions, challenge technical decisions, and support professional growth of the engineers in the team.

• You have an agile and collaborative approach with strong customer and people focus.

• You have a strong solution-focused mindset - you tackle the problems at the root and know how to find solutions in a complex environment.
