The position is integrated into the DFG Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1648 "Emerging Viruses: Pathogenesis, Structure, Immunity", which focuses on emerging viral infections and their impact on global health. The newly established CRC 1648 aims to gain a deep understanding of virus-host interactions, structure, pathophysiology and immunity to specific emerging viral infections. For the subproject - Metagenomics in Emerging Viral Infections – we are looking for a research assistant with proven bioinformatics expertise. The project focusses on pathogen detection in sequence data, with the integration of pathogen and host transcriptome data for improved prediction of infectious diseases. The subproject will be located in the working group of Prof Dr Nicole Fischer.
