The Institute of Linguistics is characterized by a wide range
of topics, combining comparative, diachronic and phonetic
approaches to the study of natural language interaction, and
is a leading participant in all linguistic collaborative research
initiatives.
We offer a full-time position as a research assistant (f/m/x)
in the area of discourse studies for a period of three years.
YOUR TASKS
» You will contribute to the consolidation and expansion
of the Discourse Studies research area in the Linguistics
Department
» You will carry out research that will advance current
research into the multimodality of language use. We
particularly welcome interest in spontaneous and/or
professional storytelling, multimodal discourse
segmentation, classical cognitive-linguistic topics
such as metaphor, metonymy and blending and in
the interface between syntax, prosody and pragmatics.
» You will teach two courses per semester
(4 semester hours)
» You will contribute to the department initiatives
and joint research project
» You will elaborate and help elaborate research projects
» You will mentor and supervise BA and MA students
» You will carry out some administrative/organizational
tasks

» You hold a doctoral degree in linguistics or in a similar
field with a focus on linguistic topics
» You have high-profile publications and international
research experience

» Knowledge of German is desirable
