Technical Assistant (f/d/m) in heart and vascular research laboratory

Our research focuses on cardiovascular damage in children after solid organ or stem cell transplantation as cardiovascular complications are one of the most common causes of death in these children. Our work has already made a relevant contribution to the characterization of these changes. Our aim is to significantly improve prevention in children after transplantation and thus enable the long-term healthy survival of these children.

You will support our heart and vascular research laboratory in conducting clinical studies of cardiovascular diseases after transplantation of children, adolescents and adults as well as the examination of healthy children and adolescents. In addition, you will gain an insight into the complementary basic science projects exploring the mechanisms of senescence in the context of normal ageing and disease. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and offers excellent investigation possibilities within the framework of single center and multicenter studies. The broad research spectrum offers a multitude of possible and varied activities.

Aufgaben

  • Assisting or carrying out non-invasive cardiovascular measurements on children and adolescents as part of the study investigation (including pulse wave velocity, vascular sonography, echocardiography, 24-hour blood pressure measurement).
  • Organization and administrative support of clinical studies incl. coordination of appointments and laboratory procedures.
  • Information and support of patients or healthy individuals (usually children and adolescents) and their parents/guardians.
  • Carrying out data collection, documentation and processing.
  • Sample and data maintenance (sample storage, sample and data management).
Qualifikation

  • Completed professional training in the medical field.
  • Ideally, previous experience in at least one cardiovascular functional diagnostic procedure, especially in children and adolescents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on several projects at the same time and always keep an overview.
  • Ideally, previous experience in the coordination and implementation of clinical studies.
  • Knowledge of the requirements for quality-assured data collection and documentation.
  • Experience in working with spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to carry out study visits at collaborating centers (within Germany).
  • Enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults in the context of clinical studies
