Role Description

In order to realise our ambitions and support our expansion in Germany, we are looking for a talented Junior Program Manager to join our team in Berlin!

Your role will consist of orchestrating Le Wagon’s Bootcamps in our city to provide students with the world's best learning experience and support our expansion across all programs. As a Program Manager, you will ensure the happiness and progression of our students

  • Overview
    • Lead the Berlin Web Development operations team
    • Ensure a healthy talent pipeline of teachers
    • Manage the day-to-day of the Berlin bootcamps (ie. team, student metrics, batches and events)
    • Own financial and staffing affairs for all things operations (eg. payments, contracts, requests)

Your Mission

Lead the Berlin Teaching Team

  • Set quarterly OKRs with the batch managers

  • Track NPS and performance against OKRs and leverage key findings to refine action plans, continuously improving the learning experience of our bootcamps.

  • Empower, coach and support the Batch Managers to provide students with the world’s best learning experience and support our growth.

  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, admissions teams and events in all things related to our bootcamps

  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews with each team member to reflect on the previous quarter, and agree on OKRs for the following quarter.

  • Prepare and conduct the onboarding of new operations team members.

  • Proactively support the Ops Manager in:
    • The implementation and roll out of new bootcamps

    • The campus selection and setup and any other legal and administrative tasks, safeguarding the legal compliance of the operation.

Ensure a healthy talent pool of teachers

  • Work with the Sales & Admissions team and Batch Managers to anticipate hiring and training needs.

  • Keep up to date on teacher metrics and feedback and roll out action plans accordingly

  • Lead and coordinate teacher sourcing, selection, onboarding and training.

  • Lead the recruitment process and onboarding for the local teaching roles, involving other teammates when necessary.

  • Oversee the development of freelance teaching teams.

  • Maintain relationships with freelance teachers.

Manage the day-to-day operations of Le Wagon bootcamps in Berlin

  • Oversee the organisation & running of key bootcamp events with the Ops Manager and Events & Community Manager.

  • Coordinate Demo Days with the Ops Manager and Events & Community Manager.

  • Keep oversight of all pedagogical metrics ( student learning metrics, attendance, NPS, pedagogical margin ).

  • Support batch managers with a smooth delivery of the bootcamps as well as student edge cases.

  • Collaborate with the Ops Manager and Batch Managers to provide students & staff with a top quality learning environment and welcoming atmosphere.

  • Ensure the Operations Team documents and shares all relevant information on Notion.

  • Ensure all relevant information is recorded effectively in Notion and that all important documents are stored in the Google Drive.

Own the financial and staffing affairs across all things operations

  • Monitor and maintain set pedagogical margins across all programs.

  • Review and approve all teaching invoices once a week.

  • Manage local teaching contracts and associated administrative tasks.

  • Brief all freelance teachers on invoicing processes, tools, and best practices.

  • Answer weekly bookkeeping queries from accountants.

  • Systematically provide accountants with relevant information to make sure they provide our finance team with the monthly financial report on the agreed date.


About You

  • You are based in Berlin and don’t plan to relocate shortly.
  • You are technically literate and grasp the challenges involved in learning coding
  • You are passionate about technology and education and ideally have an existing network on the Berlin tech scene.
  • You have 1+ years of experience in operations management and have a strong command of key business principles in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have previous experience managing multi-disciplinary and international teams.
  • You are highly structured, organised and have the ability to work to tight deadlines to provide practical solutions.
  • You have experience processing large amounts of inbound queries (Slack messages, emails) and prioritising your tasks.
  • You are a clear and confident communicator, with exceptional written and verbal English & German language skills.
  • You are entrepreneurial, highly collaborative, and love helping others reach their objectives.
  • You enjoy working autonomously and are confident learning by yourself.
