At BMW Car IT, a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW AG, we live and breathe software. We design and implement embedded software for electronic control units of the BMW cars as well as related tools and frameworks. Your role is to drive the software development of the SW-platform for an Infotainment Control Unit.
What awaits you?
- You are responsible for the delivery of a Linux-based Software-platform into several BMW infotainment projects.
- Based on your technical understanding of the Linux-kernel you plan, drive and track activities of our Software-suppliers.
- Reviewing and approving software deliveries according to functional requirement fulfillment, quality and an accordance with project milestones is your responsibility.
- You will agree with multiple projects on the priority requirements and the corresponding deliveries.
- Reporting against set priorities and objectives towards project management completes your job profile.
What should you bring along?
- University degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study (B.Eng./ B.Sc./ M.Sc./ Ph.D.).
- Professional experience in agile practices in software organizations as well as proven track record in managing external partners.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Linux, and Yocto technology.
- Strong experience in working in large, distributed software development teams.
- Experience with different software domains on Linux systems, preferably in context of embedded devices.
- Experience in delivering products that include open source components is beneficial.
- Willingness to make hard decisions about software development scope and priorities.
