An der Medizinischen Fakultät Mannheim der Universität Heidelberg ist zum 01.10.2027 die

W 3-Professur für „Dermatologie und Venerologie“ (w/m/d)

wieder zu besetzen.

Die Stelleninhaberin/der Stelleninhaber vertritt das Fach Dermatologie und Venerologie in seiner gesamten Breite in Forschung, Lehre und Krankenversorgung. Aufgrund der geplanten Bildung eines Verbundes zwischen den Universitätsklinika Mannheim und Heidelberg ist an beiden Standorten eine möglichst komplementäre Ausgestaltung von Spezialisierungen bei der Besetzung von W3-Professuren mit Klinikleitungsfunktion erwünscht. In der Krankenversorgung stellt die Stelleninhaberin/der Stelleninhaber die stationäre und ambulante Versorgung von Patientinnen und Patienten mit dem kompletten Spektrum dermatologischer Erkrankungen auf höchstem Niveau sicher. Sie/er wird zur Direktorin/zum Direktor der Universitätsklinik für Dermatologie, Venerologie und Allergologie Mannheim der Universitätsklinikum Mannheim GmbH bestellt. Es wird erwartet, dass die Bewerberin/der Bewerber die Universitätsklinik für Dermatologie, Venerologie und Allergologie Mannheim als regional und überregional attraktive, kompetitive und erfolgreiche Einrichtung weiterführt und weiter ausbaut. Dabei wird insbesondere eine enge Kooperation mit dem Institut für Pathologie, dem Interdisziplinären Gefäßzentrum Mannheim (IGZ), den Medizinischen Kliniken, dem Mannheim Cancer Center (MCC) und dem DKFZ-Hector-Krebsinstitut, dem in Gründung befindlichen Mannheim Center for Inflammation Medicine (MaCIM) und den anderen Kliniken am Universitätsklinikum Mannheim vorausgesetzt.

In der Forschung soll die Bewerberin/der Bewerber in mindestens einem zentralen Bereich der Dermatologie, Venerologie und Allergologie internationale Sichtbarkeit haben und durch Publikationen, erfolgreiche Einwerbung und Durchführung von Drittmittelprojekten und durch internationale Kooperationen ausgewiesen sein. Besonders erwünscht ist eine aktive Beteiligung an den Fakultätsforschungsschwerpunkten „Vaskuläre Biologie und Medizin/Mannheim Comprehensive Angioscience Campus“, „Entzündungsmedizin, Immunologie und Immuntherapie/Mannheim Comprehensive Inflammation Campus“ oder „Onkologie/Mannheim Comprehensive Tumor Campus“. Sie/er soll sich aktiv in Forschungsverbünde der Fakultät einbringen wie den SFB 1366 „Vascular Control of Organ Function“ oder das Graduiertenkolleg GRK 2727 „Innate Immuncheckpoints in Cancer and Tissue Damage“. Eine aktive, gestaltende Mitarbeit im European Center for Angioscience (ECAS) ist ebenso erwünscht wie im Mannheim Institute for Innate Immunoscience (MI3). Eine Mitarbeit auch in weiteren Forschungsschwerpunkten der Fakultät wird begrüßt. In der Lehre wird die Übernahme der Lehrverantwortung und eine intensive Mitwirkung an der Weiterentwicklung des Unterrichts in Dermatologie und Venerologie im Rahmen des Modellstudiengangs MaReCuM erwartet.

Voraussetzung für die Bewerbung ist ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium im Studiengang Humanmedizin, eine qualifizierte Promotion und die pädagogische Eignung, die i. d. R. durch Erfahrung in der Lehre nachgewiesen wird. Außerdem sind zusätzliche wissenschaftliche Leistungen (die Habilitation, eine erfolgreich evaluierte Juniorprofessur oder habilitationsäquivalente Leistungen) nach § 47 Abs. 2 Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg nachzuweisen. Die Anerkennung als Fachärztin/Facharzt für Haut- und Geschlechtskrankheiten ist Voraussetzung für die Berufung, Zusatzweiterbildungen sind erwünscht. Darüber hinaus werden internationale Qualifikationen in der klinischen und der Grundlagenforschung sowie didaktische Kompetenz, Kooperations- und Führungsfähigkeit und Engagement in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung erwartet.

Die Stelle steht unbefristet zur Verfügung. Professorinnen und Professoren, die Aufgaben in der Krankenversorgung in einem Universitätsklinikum wahrnehmen, werden nach § 49 Abs. 2a Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg in der Regel in einem unbefristeten privatrechtlichen Beschäftigungsverhältnis eingestellt. Die Stelleninhaberin/der Stelleninhaber erfüllt Aufgaben in der Krankenversorgung am Universitätsklinikum Mannheim. Mit der Professur ist die Leitung der Universitätsklinik für Dermatologie, Venerologie und Allergologie der Universitätsklinikum Mannheim GmbH verbunden. Hierüber wird mit der Universitätsklinikum Mannheim GmbH ein gesonderter Vertrag geschlossen.

The Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University offers the position of a

Full Professorship (W3) for “Dermatology and Venereology” (f/m/d)

to be filled as of 01.10.2027.

The professorship will represent the subject of dermatology and venereology in its entire breadth in research, teaching and patient care. Due to the planned formation of an alliance between the University Medical Centers in Mannheim and Heidelberg, a complementary structure of specializations is desired at both locations when filling W3 professorships with a clinic management function. In patient care, the position holder will ensure the highest level of inpatient and outpatient care for patients with the complete spectrum of dermatological diseases. The successful candidate will be appointed Director of the Department for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology Mannheim at the University Medical Center Mannheim. The applicant is expected to continue and further expand the Department for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology Mannheim as a regionally and nationally attractive, competitive and successful institution. In particular, close cooperation with the Institute of Pathology, the Interdisciplinary Vascular Centre Mannheim (IGZ), the Medical Clinics, the Mannheim Cancer Center (MCC) and the DKFZ-Hector Cancer Institute, the Mannheim Center for Inflammation Medicine (MaCIM), which is currently being founded, and the other clinics at the University Medical Center Mannheim is expected.

The candidate should be actively involved in the Faculty's research networks such as the CRC 1366 ‘Vascular Control of Organ Function’ or the Research Training Group RTG 2727 ‘Innate Immune Checkpoints in Cancer and Tissue Damage’. Active, formative collaboration in the European Centre for Angioscience (ECAS) is just as desirable as in the Mannheim Institute for Innate Immunoscience (MI3). Collaboration also in other key research areas of the faculty is welcomed. In teaching, the assumption of teaching responsibility and intensive involvement in the further development of teaching in dermatology and venereology within the framework of the MaReCuM, the restructured modular medical curriculum of the faculty, is expected.

Prerequisites for application are a completed university degree, a qualified doctorate and adequate teaching experience. In accordance with Article 47, paragraph 2 of the Higher Education Law of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg a Habilitation, a successfully evaluated junior professorship or equivalent scientific qualifications are additional requirements. Recognition as a specialist in skin and venereal diseases is a prerequisite for appointment; additional training is desirable. Internationally visible, excellent achievements in research, teaching and patient care, relevant teaching experience, successful acquisition of third-party funding and didactic competence are expected, as well as cooperation and leadership skills and commitment to academic self-administration.

The professorship is a permanent position. Professors who are responsible for patient care at a university hospital are generally employed permanently under private law in accordance with § 49 (2a) of the Higher Education Law of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg. The holder of the position fulfils tasks in patient care at the University Medical Center Mannheim. The professorship is associated with the management of the Department for Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology at the University Medical Center Mannheim. A separate contract will be concluded with Universitätsklinikum Mannheim GmbH.
