As a member of Country/Region Leadership team and the EMEA Medical affairs organization the role will contribute to the value maximization of current and future Medical Affairs people, processes and product portfolio for BDX.
This position is responsible to conceptualize, develop and implement BDX or cross-BU Clinical and Medical Affairs strategies and programs on a Country/Region Level in close coordination with the BU Heads of Medical Affairs at Regional and Country/Region level, as well as with Central Medical Affairs functions in Country/Region.
The role has oversight on all ongoing and future medical activities in the Country/Region, including IISs, scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), promotional and educational activities and materials; consultant and advisory meetings and medical scientific grants including budget responsibility.
Ensure that all activities and interactions comply with International/Local policies, BD guideline and SOPs.

The Medical and Clinical Affairs team provides scientifically sound and medically relevant support to deliver innovative, safe and efficacious solutions for BD customers.
As Director Medical Affairs C&EE you will contribute to the value maximization of current and future Medical Affairs people, processes and product portfolio for BDX.
In this role you will conceptualize, develop and implement Medical Affairs strategies and programs on a Country and Region Level.
The role has oversight on all medical activities in the Country/Region, including IISs, scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), promotional and educational activities and materials; consultant and advisory meetings and medical scientific grants including budget responsibility.
- Organizing regional congresses, workshops, advisory boards, etc. with influential HCPs
- Assessing and building medical affairs capabilities within the organization.
- Sensing new clinical, innovation and health economics trends within and translate these into actionable insights and strategies.
- Building positive relationships with key medical authorities, institutions and engaging with existing Health Care Professionals and groups having insights and values of strategic relevance to BD.
- Acting as the primary contact for medical and scientific questions for BD's portfolio.
- Recommending regional investigators and sites for scientific studies.
- Ensuring compliance and rigor in promotional materials through appropriate implementation of PRC activities.
- Developing and gaining acceptance for a Regional Medical Affairs Strategic Plan.
- Addressing product or patient safety issues by intervening withHCPs and within BD processes.
- Providing training for commercial teams and other BD personnel.
- Supporting legislative, market access, and reimbursement efforts.
- Ensuring statistical analysis, writing, reporting, publishing and presenting of portfolio level evidence, including assisting / collaborating with HCPs, as needed
- Supporting implementation of Medical Information, Training and Medical Affairs Audit activities within Country/Region
- Partnering with Business Development for evaluating licensing opportunities
You are an outstanding leader with 10-15+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry (at least 5 years in a relevant therapeutic area). Your ability to communicate complex issues effectively and your exceptional presentation skills make you a standout candidate. You exhibit strong business insight, analytical thinking, and a growth-oriented approach.
- MD (Preferred), PhD (Life Sciences), PharmD with optional MBA or equivalent experience in management.
- Leadership and people development skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical and regulatory requirements for a multi-layer medical organization.
- Ability to identify unmet clinical needs and evaluate product opportunities.
- Experience engaging with market access challenges and payer landscapes.
- Strong network with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and experience developing KOL engagement plans.
- Clinical trial experience with proven knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
