Meet the team:
It is essential that we remain up to date with the latest developments in Diabetes and CGM, so that we can best serve our patients and provide accurate advice and support to health care professionals. The Medical Affairs teams are our resident experts regarding the treatment of diabetes, medical device product training, clinical studies and the use of CGM as a management tool for diabetes.
We are looking for someone with great medical communication and engagement skills to head up our DACH Medical Affairs team. Bring your experience in engaging with KOL´s, educating and treating people with diabetes, and your knowledge of Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) and help develop programs and materials that will equip HCPs with the knowledge they need to understand and support our patients.
Where you come in:
- As Director Medical Affairs at Dexcom, you will lead the DACH Medical Affairs team and define the medical strategy and tactics for the DACH region. Currently the team consists of 2 highly motivated people.
- You will serve as a primary medical voice of the company both internally and externally through networking and presenting at conferences, delivering clinically insightful messaging appropriate for clinical and health technology audiences.
- You will be a key contributor to the DACH strategy and an active member of the DACH leadership team and EMEA/LATAM medical affairs team.
- You will facilitate and play a leadership role in the promotion of emerging clinical trial data, strategic publications, and health outcome research with KOLs and other relevant parties via presentations, discussions and face-to-face meetings, and publications.
- You will establish and nurture key relationships throughout the diabetes ecosystem.
- You will take the lead on providing medical and educational leadership and support to the DACH teams, including among others Marketing, Market Access, Training, Sales and Technical Support.
- Your expertise in the field of diabetes education will enable us to develop the educational tools and clinical messaging needed for a variety of audiences - patients, Diabetes Nurses, Physicians and others.
- This is an exciting role for a confident communicator and people-leader who is passionate about high standards in clinical and medical affairs and keen to support Dexcom’s efforts to be leader in CGM education and driving CGM as a standard of care.
- Leverage your clinical expertise to provide strategic and operational support to our Product and Engineering teams to make sure our offerings meet the needs of our large network of clinicians who use them every day to care for diabetic patients.
What makes you successful:
- Qualified Medical Doctor (or another relevant clinical university degree)
- You must have extensive experience in the education and treatment of patients with diabetes, with good knowledge of CGM and its use as a diabetes management tool.
- 5 or more years of Medical Affairs and Clinical leadership experience ideally in medical device or pharmaceutical i ndustry.
- You are team-focused and a strong collaborator, working alongside a highly functioning medical team and matrix organization. You are also able to work independently and use critical thinking skills to make independent decisions.
- You are experienced in developing and running commercial advisory boards with KOLs.
- You have a thorough understanding of the day-to-day challenges faced by people of diabetes today.
- You have robust group presentation skills to both clinicians and people with diabetes.
- You have experience directly related to the use of diabetes technology, including CGM and its use with adults, pediatrics, and clinicians as a diabetes management tool strongly desired.
- You are a strong people leader with excellent track record in talent development. Minimum 5 years of management experience including leading people managers.
- You have worked in matrixed organizations.
