Your role at Baxter
The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) will provide clinical and technical expertise to the specified Therapeutic Area (TA) of Chronic Kidney Disease.
Together with the Regional Medical Director the MSL is accountable for the implementation of the medical strategy.
The MSL is responsible for aligning the Voice of Customer (VOC) with the respective Global Therapeutic Area Leaders and clinical development teams. Critical to this role is the clinical knowledge of therapies and product lines with the ability to offer guidance for product support and product development.
This role could be home based in Germany.
What you'll be doing
Contribute to the development and implementation of cluster business strategies and tactics to optimize markets for current and future products
Provide clinical expertise for the creation, development and delivery of high value-added medical-to-medical educational programs that support commercial team’s efforts
Supporting MSLs and new team members in both internal and in the field medical affairs activities
Identify and engage with KOLs of the respective area of responsibility, establish and maintain peer-to-peer relationships to build awareness, proper use and investigate new uses of Baxter’s products
Liaison with medical organizations and external subject matter experts (KOL’S) within the scope of the Therapeutic Area, e.g., as clinical investigators or scientific consultants
Responsible for creation and facilitation of scientific Advisory Boards
Provide scientific support and attendance at conferences and meetings in the respective areas of responsibility
Review/approve cluster related advertising and promotional, as well as scientific and educational, materials within the therapeutic areas of responsibility
Provide input into clinical research strategy and facilitate Phase IV clinical research like registries for launch and licensed products and give input on new product development for successful launch into the marketplace
Maintain knowledge base as to developments and trends in medical sciences
Responsible for cluster medical grant and budgets management in area of TA expertise
What you'll bring
Advanced degree in scientific discipline or equivalent is preferred; MD (Medical Doctor) and/or PhD and/or equally academic qualified healthcare professional including nurses
Formal medical, clinical, or scientific education and/or relevant industry experience in Medical Affairs
Clinical healthcare professional background, preferably with renal experience
Minimum of 5 years clinical experience and 10+ years post graduate experience within the health care industry is preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and German
Expertise in clinical presentations and medical education
Effective interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in groups in a collegial manner to manage projects and timelines
Excellent medical writing and oral communication skills
Solid knowledge of healthcare regulations for medical communications
Willingness to travel across the cluster
Computer literacy, AI awareness and social media
Experience with literature review, synthesis, and analysis
