Medical Liaison Manager, Biosimilars (f/m/d) for the territory of Eastern Germany

Rostock, Schwerin, Neubrandenburg, Magdeburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Cottbus, Erfurt, Chemnitz

About the role

The Medical Liaison Manager (MLM) is a hybrid function of a Medical Manager and a field-based Medical Scientific Liaison with regional and national scope. The incumbent plays a key role in the execution of country medical affairs plans and tactics and delivers regional / national clinical, scientific and technical educational activites to the health care community, patient organizations or payers. The MLM will develop national scientific content for external communications. The MLM will support Biogen´s advancing biosimilars research programs (clinical research, Real World Data Generation) and investigator-sponsored studies on national level as well as building long term peer to peer relationships with key medical experts and other stakeholders of therapeutic areas where Biogen is developing and/or commercializing products through engagement in national and regional activities. The incumbent will also participate in and contribute to projects and initiatives that increase the value and productivity of the broader Medical Affairs team. This position includes possible travel up to 50% of the time, including ability to travel overnight and occasionally in weekends, all as business requires.

What you´ll do

  • Maintain clinical, scientific and technical expertise in relevant therapeutic areas and other future disease state areas.
  • Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical development, commercial and serve as a resource to HCPs, large group medical practices, payers and formulary decision makers.
  • Participate in/support training of Biogen Biosimilars field and home office employees.
  • Provide medical/clinical teams with feedback and insights from interactions with Key Medical Experts and investigators; inform proactively other functions on trends in treatment pattern management.
  • Respond to and document unsolicited requests for information on Biogen Biosimilars products and clinical programs in full alignment with respective functions.
  • Heighten medical affairs presence and visibility by supporting the medical lead in the execution of national projects and initiatives.
  • Support national requests for dossier review and comment, medical review and consideration of potential business development opportunities and other unique projects as requested; this can include e.g. advisory board meetings, patient support programs, national satellite symposia and other educational activities, national digital platforms.
  • Participate in medical and scientific exchanges with the medical/ scientific community, e.g. represent the company at medical meetings/congresses through Medical Affairs´Scientific Booth coverage and other related activities.
  • Engage in speaker identification, training and evaluation and provide support for advisory board meetings as requested.
  • Develop and track key medical experts (KME) engagement plans – identify, develop and maintain long-term collaborative relationships with KMEs within assigned region.
  • Facilitate research collaborations (including Real World Evidence [RWE] generation and investigator initiated trials [IITs]) with key investigators including helping identify, establish and maintain such collaborations.
  • Collaborate with Market Access & Reimbursement and Commercial colleagues for KME, HCP and institutional engagement where appropriate and in line with local rules and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree or similar is required, PharmD, PhD or MD level is desired.
  • Min 2+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry or CRO or academic research.
  • Previous experience working as Medical Scientific Liaison and/or Medical Manager (education/communication).
  • Therapeutic area experience/ knowledge is preferred.
  • Demonstrated good skills in English (understanding, writing & spoken).
